Hinckley Yacht Services Opens New Yard in Annapolis MD
Hinckley Yacht Services is the pinnacle of yacht care. They offer service, transportation and storage through 9 world-class yards from Maine to Florida.
The new Annapolis yard is located on 4 acres in a sheltered area of Whitehall Creek with the capability to store and service 200 boats. Its leader is Charlie Petosa, who has extensive servicing experience as Chief Operating Officer for Northrop & Johnson Yachts-Ships.
Hinckley builds highly innovative owner-driven powerboats and sailing yachts from 29 to 55 feet. Nine world-class Hinckley YachtCare centers from Maine to Florida provide service, maintenance, transportation and storage for a pinnacle ownership experience.
Unlike many mass-produced boats, Hinckley’s are handcrafted to each owner’s specifications by a team of 25 artisanal craftsmen. The result is a boat that’s built to last and that offers a level of refinement not found on any other powerboat.
While a Hinckley may be more expensive than some other yachts, it also comes with a warranty and a network of service facilities. During the season, the Hinckley YachtCare team will be there around the clock to support you and your vessel, while in the offseason, the yard can relocate your yacht or provide any number of services, from minor tune-ups to a full refit. This helps to protect your investment and slow down depreciation, which is one of the main reasons why people choose to buy a Hinckley.
The City of Annapolis
Known as America’s Sailing Capital, Annapolis is home to the United States Naval Academy and an array of historic attractions. A visit here is not complete without a boating trip on the Severn River and Chesapeake Bay. Or, take a tour of the city on a harbor cruise aboard either the Harbor Queen or Schooner Woodwind.
The town is steeped in Maryland history, and the City’s Historic District contains a dense cluster of top Annapolis attractions, including the domed 1700s Maryland State House and Church Circle’s Romanesque-style St. Anne’s Episcopal Church. The city’s bay is a busy yachting and sailing hub, hosting yearly power and sailboat shows.
The National Museum of the United States Naval Academy and the Banneker-Douglass Museum offer opportunities to learn more about the rich heritage that defines the city. And, the City’s revolving fund allows preservation groups to purchase and put protective easements on historic buildings and sites for future use.
